Launching an online store has become easier. Running one has not.

E-commerce sellers still find themselves moving between store builders, landing-page software, payment providers, analytics platforms, translation tools and countless integrations before making a single sale.

Anass Ech Chakfi, founder and CEO of xPage, believes artificial intelligence can remove much of that complexity.

Founded in 2023, xPage is an AI-powered e-commerce platform designed to shorten the distance between finding a product and putting it in front of customers. Rather than using artificial intelligence solely for writing descriptions or generating images, xPage incorporates AI directly into the process of building and operating an online sales presence.

The broader idea is simple: entrepreneurs should be able to spend more time testing products and understanding customers, and less time assembling technology.

Rethinking the E-Commerce Tech Stack

The modern e-commerce industry has produced specialized software for nearly every stage of selling online.

That specialization created powerful tools, but it also created fragmentation.

A merchant can have one platform for the storefront, another for landing pages, another for payments and additional software for analytics, localization and order management.

For experienced operators, that complexity can be manageable. For someone trying to launch quickly, it can become an obstacle before the real business has even started.

xPage is being built around a more consolidated approach.

Merchants can use the platform to create product pages and storefronts, manage orders, monitor analytics, configure payments and adapt their operations for different markets. Its AI functionality can also use existing product information to accelerate the creation of sales pages and product content.

For Ech Chakfi, AI is therefore less about novelty and more about removing repetitive work.

Speed Changes How Sellers Test Products

One of the biggest advantages of that approach appears when merchants are testing new products.

Traditional e-commerce development creates an upfront cost in both time and money. A seller can spend days designing pages, writing copy and configuring a store only to discover that customers have little interest in the product.

AI changes that equation.

If much of the initial setup can happen faster, merchants can test ideas without committing the same level of resources to each one.

That makes experimentation cheaper.

Instead of treating every product launch as a major development project, sellers can increasingly treat products as hypotheses: launch, collect information, determine whether demand exists and then allocate more resources to the opportunities showing promise.

xPage is positioning itself around that faster cycle.

Building AI Into the Infrastructure

There is an important difference between adding an AI feature to an existing platform and designing the broader workflow around artificial intelligence.

Ech Chakfi is pursuing the latter.

xPage is being developed as an AI-native commerce platform where automation influences multiple stages of launching and operating an online business rather than existing as an isolated feature.

The platform also addresses international commerce through support for multiple currencies, languages and payment options.

That matters because e-commerce businesses increasingly discover customers outside their original markets.

A product can gain traction through advertising or social media in a country the merchant had not initially prioritized. The ability to adapt storefronts and transactions for different markets can therefore become an operational advantage.

Early Adoption Provides a Test

xPage reports that more than 14,000 stores and landing pages have already been generated through its ecosystem, with merchants producing more than $12 million in revenue through the platform.

Those figures are company-reported, but they provide an early indication of how Ech Chakfi intends to position the business.

The goal is not simply to compete with conventional website builders.

It is to create infrastructure around the commercial process itself.

That means helping merchants move from product selection to page creation, payment processing, order management and performance analysis without relying on an increasingly complicated collection of disconnected software.

A Different Role for AI in E-Commerce

Much of the discussion surrounding artificial intelligence and online retail has focused on content.

AI can write advertisements. It can generate product descriptions. It can produce images and answer customer questions.

Those capabilities are useful, but they may represent only the first stage of AI’s influence on commerce.

The larger opportunity could come from reducing the operational work required to transform an idea into a functioning business.

That is the direction Ech Chakfi is pursuing with xPage.

As artificial intelligence becomes standard across the e-commerce industry, simply having AI features will become less meaningful. The more important distinction will be how deeply those systems are integrated into the actual process of selling.

For Anass Ech Chakfi, the ambition behind xPage is ultimately larger than making websites faster to build.

It is about making the infrastructure required to start and operate an e-commerce business increasingly disappear into the background.
